Choose Xtel Europe for Calls

Network calls made over the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) are provided to us by BT trough their service to us know as Wholesale Calls. They and they alone are responsible for switching, delivering and terminating the call. Any customer fault reported to Xtel is in turn logged on the Openreach Equivalence Management Platform. We are then kept up to date with any actions via the gateway electronically in order to manage the process and be able to report updates or arrange an Openreach engineer visit to you the Customer.
Voice Calls
Access to the network is either by: Indirect access (IDA). This is where a code, 3 or 4 digits, is prefixed either manually or automatically before the dialled number is transmitted. Carrier Pre Select (CPS). This is where at exchange level the call is passed to the pre selected carrier. Calls are billed to the nearest tenth of a second and to one thousandth of a penny. Through outbound calling you may wish to utilise some form of Power Dialling using Computer Telephone Integration (CTI) together with ISDN. This could take the form of 'Key Board Click' as a one off ant time application or a database generated call list for telemarketing.

Data Calls
A data call is in essence any call made that is not voice. The charge however is exactly the same as voice and is to the nearest tenth of a second and to one thousandth of a penny. The only real differentiation is that with voice the true cost is determined by the length of the conversation whilst the cost of the data call will be determined by the amount of data being sent and the ability of the line to carry the data, transmission speed. I.E. the same amount of data could be sent at differing times of the day and the costs could vary dependent on the above.
Our inbound voice services are provided to us by Gamma Telecom. The service can be accessed by any number from anywhere in the world. You can advertise as a local company as in a geographic number (01, 02) or you can advertise as a non-geographic number (08, 03) and in the case of 08 receive a small revenue stream.

It would be wrong however to think the small revenue collect was the main driver behind the service. The Inbound call service is primarily used by customers to control incoming calls from its own customers or potential customers.

Users of this service can manage the direction of the inbound call. Ensuring the call is delivered to the right person or department at the right time of the day, or diverting to others during busy periods or out of office times. Calls can also be recorded for compliance or training purposes.

In the event of disaster recovery within minutes the whole number range and inbound calling can be delivered to a destination of your choosing.

You can provide callers with a menu to chose from as in Auto Attendant or utilise the Interactive Voice Response feature. You need never miss a call again and if for some reason you did the management reports would list out the call allowing you to call back.
